I'm a huge fan of his.
He's definitely an underrated guitarist!
He had retinal cancer as a baby which made him blind.
Loved him in the movie Roadhouse.
Also love all his albums especially "Feel This" and "Cover to Cover".
Had different types of cancer his whole life which eventually killed him.
R.I.P. Jeff!

I was never afan. but I just read that! He was only 41. Its very sad. While I was not a fan, I did respect him a LOT.

Star in his memory people!!!!

yes. That's so sad.

Yeah, that sucks. He was a great guitarist. He's supposed to have a new album released next month.

I hadn't heard; now I will have to rent Roadhouse again!

I heard last night on the national news - been a fan of his work for a number a years now.

He had a few songs I recall from the late 80's which seemed to be the height of his popularity. Like James, I remember him most for the movie Roadhouse, one of the worst movies ever made that I can't help but watch every time it's on. It's a really sad story. I had no idea he always had cancer, that had to have been a living hell.

I loved his music and I have all his cd's. He was a very good blues singer and he will be missed by all his fans. It's so very sad.RIP, Jeff.

I couldn't believe it when I heard the news last night. What a sadness that the poor man couldn't escape his cancer. However, on that note I happen to think he was given his great talent to give him great meaning to his life. He was a great role model for many.

Jeff Healey, another fine Canadian import. I did know that cancer caused his blindness, but did not know it had returned. Very sad to die at such a young age, and on the night before an album release.

Like Rckets, I also think "Road House" when I think of him. Perhaps the only reason he was in the movie was because he could not see Patrick Swayze's hideous Mullet.

I just checked out his website after seeing your question, how sad for his family. The only positive thing I can say is that at least he is no longer in pain. I've seen how cancer and other diseases can ravage a body and it's not pleasant. Prayers for his family going out right now!

Yeah. I first saw him in Roadhouse. My father actually met him when he went to a concert many years back. RIP Dad and Jeff Healey.

No, I didn't hear that! How awful! I'll always remember him for his song "Angel Eyes"!

Never heard of him 'til now. But any blind guitar player gets my respect. He sounded like a cool dude.

Yes, I just read about it and I didn't realize that he was so young. I loved watching him in the movie "Roadhouse". That's one of the main reasons that is my favorite movie, I'm glad I bought it!

Sad to hear that & he was one hell of a guitar player. I have a few of his CD's

I posted basically the same question on the Blues boards. You have way more comments over here in R&P. That's a shame that the blues people aren't speaking up more. I've liked Jeff since I first heard him back in the 80's. He did a really great cover of ZZ Top's Blue Jean Blues. He will be sadly missed.
