This is from Wikipedia and there is a lot more information there, on this subject, if you're interested .............

In 1951, Cleveland, Ohio disc jockey Alan Freed began playing rhythm and blues music for a multi-racial audience. Freed is credited with first using the phrase "rock and roll" to describe the music. However, the term had already been introduced to US audiences, particularly in the lyrics of many rhythm and blues records. Three different songs with the title "Rock And Roll" were recorded in the late 1940s; one by Paul Bascomb in 1947, another by Wild Bill Moore in 1948, and yet another by Doles Dickens in 1949, and the phrase was in constant use in the lyrics of R&B songs of the time. One such record where the phrase was repeated throughout the song was "Rock And Roll Blues," recorded in 1949 by Erline "Rock And Roll" Harris.

Well if you get loose you go crazy and to express yourself you go rolling yourself over.

Popularised for the music by the DJ Alan Freed , from the term above for having s3x

Obviously you're a virgin 'aint ya. Go on admit it.Otherwise you wouldn't be asking this stoopid question.

in 1947, Ike Turner wrote, "i'm gonna rock ya, i'm gonna roll ya" which was a sexual connotation, like the previous' generation "i'm gonna jazz ya."

I think the song finally made it to vinyl by 1950.

The actual coining of the phrase came from the great and most listened to radio host for young people at the time, Alan Feed, who admitted taking the phrase from Turner's song.

i miss those days a fewer genre's lol

Because when you throw a rock down a hill it begins to roll along the ground?!

Answer: YOU LET IT ROLL!!!

Rock to play the music.
