15 year old learning guitar?!

Question: I jsut began playing like a month ago and I was wondering what exactly is learning? I've learned a couple of songs from Bon Jovi, Jet, some Oldies, and a couple more. I think Im doign good cuz I can read tabs and I know some chords that i don't need to use the chord diagram but is that learning? Im not sure if there is other things I need to learn. Also, I have a crappy guitar that I bought at Target but my uncle was telling me he had a Ibanez RG2570E Prestige Electric Guitar and he was telling me he didn't need it so I was free to use it whenever. Will that be better for me or it doesn't matter what guitar I am using.

to learn guitar, you want to learn EVERY CORD. that way, you can play any song. instead of "learning a song" you can read the notes and just play it. then, if you play the song often enough, you'll end up "learning"it or memorizing it. also, once you can play notes and cords, you'll want to learn techniques. anything as simple as practicing diffrent strumming (like with a pick, your finger nail, or the tip of your finger) to learning how tap cords, add a special twaing by taping the quitar's wood, and making that awsome noise from runing your finger down a string instead of across are all tecniques you'll want to learn and use. you'll also want to learn when to use these tecniques to ad a twist to an already existing song or to a song you just made up!

as for guitars, type and quality are very importent. the cheeper the guitar is made, the more pathetic the sound. other good guitarists will be able to note when you use a crappy guitar. the sound is soo much more crisp and better when you have a diffrent guitar. even though i'm not great at guitar, i can tell the diffrence. one of my quitars sucks and the other one, wich i bought from my uncle, is a great guitar.

it'll matter because the sound will be better. each guitar you pick up will have a different feel and soon you will find one you like. My advice to you is go to Guitar Center, play a few, talk to some old pro's and form your own opinions and style...you are very young and thats great you can pick something up so fast, but there is ALWAYS more to learn

im 13 nd i play guitar nd yea ur learning, tabs are the best if you just wanna play and have fun, chords are pretty much useless though.about the new guitar it sounds sweet but the guitar doesnt have that much influence on playin unless you playing really high on the fretboard like 16-19th fret the amp is somthin you dont wanna scimp on i would invest in a good amp with soem good distortion footpedals

Well if your a begginer then using an advanced guitar like an ibanez is not a good idea. Stick with the cheap one until you get good. My friend started off with a terrible guitar after a while he got a €1500 les paul now he is unreal. Find some lessons and take them for a while after you know the basics learning songs will be easy, except the hard ones. Just find a online lesson to teach how to read tabs.

Usually doesn't matter what guitar you use, but if your guitar is crappy... and your allowed to use your uncle's guitar, I would go for it! Good luck and have fun.
