Question: a lot of people in this generation have no clue about hip hop's history and have no clue who some of the most prestiged legends are. i'm not saying i know of everything and i have a long way to go, but damn these days people compare new kids to legends.

He's talking about how people will take a guy like Soulja Boy, and compare him to a legend like Tupac, or a Tribe Called Quest.

maybe not funny, but at least ironic. People listen to Bob Marley while they smoke weed, and then say they know exactly what's he talking about. Almost nobody in my high school knows about Africa Bambaataa, J Dilla, Kurtis Blow, MC Shan, KRS-One, Marley Marl. Nothin. It's a shame
