How do u feel about so many rappers taking the 3 album and retire route?!

Question: I don't really like it but i think it has alot to do with the stress these artist must go through. I also think it is a contract thing.
Most labels make artist sign contracts to do multiple albums rather then just one.
I think these aritst don't want to get into a situation where they are forced to make an album because they are obligated to.

LL Cool J is the perfect example. He hates Def Jam but he has to do one more album before he is out of his contract

"lyrics are weak like clock radio speakers" - GZA

that describes many wack artists out there but yeah thats not cool when rappers do that cuz they have more potential than that unless they truly suck.

So many? WTF?? You can only name two.

You punk, you gave me a thumbs down lol. Thats okay though.

They don't wanna eff up their legacy so play it safe.

Edit: I'd say B.I.G., Big Pun, Big L, MC Shan, etc. made a legacy.

I really only know of Lupe going that route...who else is doing it???

Anyways...to set a number of albums that you are going to drop is lame...If you got love for hip hop...then you make an albums when you are feeling it...if its only 3 so be it...but to plan on only doing a certain amount is corny...

i think its stupid
they just in it for the money
dats how i feel

It really annoys me, especially if they are good quality rappers...for example The Game is doing that...he is only going to release one more album called "L.A.X.", and then retire.

It annoys me. I feel like your in the game to make money more than you are to make quality music.

there are those who just don't have that love anymore or they feel like they don't stand for what's "cool" in the business and i think that reason is fine because why do it if you just don't feel it anymore?
oor they like having one hit wonders and getting money for that specific song. (greedy i know)

i think if you really have a good reason for it then you have a right to finish.

i wish more rappers would have taken that route like 50 cent, nelly, chingy and so on and so forth
