Guitar Case/Guitar question?!
Question: i bought a new guitar yesterday and a case for it, but the only thing thats bothering me is the case:
because while the body of the guitar fits pretty nice, the top of the headstock has no room at all between itself and the case. is this a problem??? or is it fine to have the headstock touching the case? shouldnt the headstock be free?

You don't want the head stock to be unsupported or as you put it free. Here's why; if the case falls and the impact is great enough the head stock will crack off because it has the room around it. A more snug fit will keep the head stock from moving even upon impact. I've owned a music store and have also traveled musically and I can tell you I've seen cases fall down some serious distances and survive thanks to the integrity of the case. Don't ever skimp on your travel gear when it comes to your equipment. I also have a Roland RD 500 and spent over $300 just for the case. It has paid for itself many times. Many times other people are moving your gear and they don't really worry about your stuff. It's your job to protect it. Happy Musicing!
a good tight fit is ok. its better that the guitar dont wobble around anyway. as it gets older it will loosen up some
When fitting a guitar into a case you want it to be snug without damaging the integrity of the guitar. You don't want the guitar sliding around and getting dinged up inside the case.
I think you should buy a new case :}
DUDE MY SUGGESTION GO AND GET A HARD CASE AS FAST AS YOU CAN .......
in the beginning you will feel that you have wasted your money but later on you can understand that its really necessary.......
you dont know when your guitar can fall.....with the hard case its completely safe....
