fine with me, cuz i was thinking the same thing about this section
There seems like there are plenty of questions on here (R&B and Soull) but fight the good fight. I think if more people listened to R&b they will appreciate it. Not only the new stuff thats coming out but the old school as well. Throw some Motown at them. Let them hear the founding fathers and mothers of the music they listen to today,whether it be Diana Ross,Martha and the Vandella's, Gladys Night,Marvin Gaye, Smokey etc. Let them hear the harmonys,the Phil Spector wall of sound that just engulfs you.That makes you believe the music is all around you.
Then if you really want to hear and see some of the best musicians that this world had to offer, get "Standing in the Shadows of Motown- The Funk Brothers. Its a documantary of the musicians that played for Motown. FYI,they played on more #1 albums that the Beach Boys, The Beatles, Elvis AND the Rolling Stones COMBINED.
