Stock pickups almost always blow, unless they're EMGs or the guitar is over a thousand dollars.

I'm surprised your iceman's pickups aren't putting out enough gain to give you pinch harmonics.... but honestly, technique is 4/5ths of the battle. If you can get a pinch harmonic on an acoustic but can't get one on the iceman than there really is a problem (seriously, try it).

Try raising your pickups. That'll give you a hotter signal. Don't raise them too high. Get new strings, factory strings can blow. Has your guitar been set up and intonated? Take it to a guitar tech and have them give it the once-over, restring your guitar, and intonate it properly. If you still can't get a decent pinch, replace the pickups with some high-output humbuckers from Seymour Duncan or DiMarzio. I like the JBs, but there are a lot of options available.

Start with the strings. That's probably your problem. Crappy factory strings. I use Elixirs. They sound decent and last forever.

I use an epiphone les paul with GHS boomers custom light strings, I do pinch harmonics fine. Don't really know anything about the Ibanez though sorry.

My Epiphone has stock pickups as well.

yea i have an epiphone with stock pickups, standard les paul, i got it used... i can do pinch harmonics just fine. i wouldn't know whats wrong, but remember this, if you want to do better pinch harmonics, keep the toggle selected to the bridge pick up. sorry thats all i can help you with, good luck.

You just have to get used to your new one by either digging deeper or giving it more of an angle. For example with my Shecter C-1 Elite I give it just a bit of an angle and do them regularly, but when I play my Gibson SG I have to angle my hand more and make sure I'm right over the pick-up. But theres definatly a difference when you play different guitars.
