there used to be so much passion, so much depth. now [in most cases....not all] its about making money and getting girls. that wont get you far in life, the money will be spent and the hoes will find new ballers to sleep with.
the few good stuff actually on the radio isnt appreciated enough.
you can tell real hip hop from commercial, because in real hip hop its not about selling the most albums. real rappers rap because its who they are.

hip hop is dead was a marketing scheme by nas. thats about it.
Its because the true MCs are dying out and they are having nobody follow in their footsteps. There is hardly any promising talent around, who will replace Nas, Jay-Z, Eminem, RZA, GZA, Scarface, Ice Cube, DMX etc? All you get now is loadsa whack "snap music" artists e.g. Soulja Boy, Hurricaine Chris, Unk etc.
