Roger Waters or David Gilmour : Which one IS Pink?!

Question: ...And why?

Answers: ...And why?

Roger Waters....of course!

Addendum:

"Pink Floyd" was the creation by it's founding member Syd Barrett. Formed in 1964 which was at various times called Sigma 6, the Meggadeaths, The Tea Set, The Abdabs and The Screaming Abdabs. When Tea Set found themselves on the same bill as another band with the same name, Barrett came up with the alternative name The Pink Floyd Sound after two blues musicians, Pink Anderson and Floyd Council. For a time after this they oscillated between The Tea Set and The Pink Floyd Sound, with the latter name eventually winning out. Eventually, "The, and Sound" were dropped from the name, leaving only "Pink Floyd."

Most people identify "Pink" as the kid/musician from the album "The Wall" (1979), and later released movie in 1982 (yes, played by Bob Geldof) -- as it was understood to be the autobiographical childhood of Roger Waters, and main subject for its making.

Soooooo,......Roger will always be assumed as "Pink."

How about Syd?

Bob Geldof!

*edit - thanks Sarah!

yeah, syd , lol

Not Dave Gilmour - anybody but Dave Gilmour!

Darn it! I was gonna ask this question! : D

Syd will ALWAYS be Pink. Syd was the power behind the Floyd, and even after his departure from the band, his presence, his words remained with the band. The path that Floyd followed was paved by Syd and it was him that inspired some of their greatest work.

Between Roger and David, I would say it's Roger. David was the one that created the distinct "Floyd sound" but it was Roger who was the heart and soul behind Floyd, the words were his.

EDIT: LOL Joe!

Bob Geldof. His name is Pink in the movie The Wall.

Neither . Syd Barrett Named the band after Two blues artists that he was inspired by - Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.

Hmmm....

This is a difficult one but for me, Gilmour is the most crucial to Floyd's sound.

A bloody amazing guitarist too!

Neither. It's just a slam to the record execs that were so out of touch that didn't even realize no one in the band was named "Floyd" or "Pink".

For me David Gilmour is 'Pink', I love Pink Floyd mainly because of his guitar playing.

I think most of us know where the band name came from, and I think you are missing the point of the question!

Syd
