Miles Davis...?!

Question: What's the most memorable recording he did?

Is Kind of Blue his best work? At least that's what I always hear. I own the album btw and I love it! Especially Blue In Green! What's your take? Feel free to lists albums and/or other artists.

I like Kind of Blue, Sketches of Spain, Blue Miles, and Porgy & Bess.
Check out the following from John Coltrane:
Blue Train
A Love Supreme
Giant Steps
My Favorite Things
Lush Life
John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman
Duke Ellington & John Coltrane

Well I love all blues but.... his most memorable I would say is his Authum Leaves recording man.. I love that recording... So moody and elegant. I would also recommend the album "Sketches of Spain" some very interesting stuff there.

for me Kind Of Blue was his best. But I also do love Bit*ches Brew. Brew does take a getting used to because it is completely unlike anyhthing he had ever done. The musicianship on that was album to me was second to none. You had Chick Corea, Josef Zawinul, John McLaughlin and Billy Cobham among others. Of course the same can be said for Kind Of Blue with the combo Julian "Cannonball" Adderly and John Coltrane.

I love 'In a sentimental mood' its very sad, 'summertime' and his 'jazz trumpet solo'

enjoy :)

I loved Blue in Green so much i had to learn it on the piano, and i'm no jazz musician. I love Blue in Green too!! Bill Evans wrote that for Miles Davis, in case you didn't know. And its just so beautiful!! i love all the music thats on that album.

No doubt, Kind of Blue is his most memorable work for most folks, including myself. It is the #1 jazz album of all time, in my opinion. 'Blue in Green' is really nice, but 'So What' is the song that defines this album for me. I do not believe that Cannonball Adderley did a more expressive solo on any other recording in his life than what he did on 'So What'.

This album is the best example of modal jazz.
