Im sure I heard hip hop long before this, but what I remember best was hearing 5 on it by the Luniz and big poppa by biggie
But what realy got me into hip hop was the song "watch this" by swollen members. Before that I only knew the mainstream stuff and had no idea that there was this whole underground. So ya around 6th or 7th grade that really piqued my intrest. I think that before that age I wouldnt have been able to really appreciate good rap anyways.

I remember hearing some stuff when I was a kid that I later learned were joints by Run DMC and Whodini. The first song that I heard that really captured my attention and got me interested in hip hop was "I'm Bad" by LL Cool J.
when i was younger, i used to hear hip hop, but i never used to listen. the first hip hop/rap song that really got me listening was the real slim shady by eminem. after that, i was hooked and there was no turning back.( i know i know, i'm quite young, plus i lived in a christian home so...)
