okay what do you all think???

1. jimmy page- led zeppelin
2. slash- guns n' roses
3. tony iommi- black sabbath
4. angus young- ac/dc
5. keith richards- rolling stones

Jimmi Hendrix

All of Morello's riffs were generic and simple and his solos loaded with effects.

Tim Skold - Marilyn Manson

as i get older, and as i get more informed about music my views on who is quote on quote, greatest has changed quite a bit.

i always used to have this notion of the top 5 best guitarist, top 5 best drummer ect in my mind. but now my view is completely different

music is so much about opinion. it is not math, it is not science. There is no definite right and there is no definite wrong. the most simple guitar riff could be the most beautiful thing in the world and the most complicated riff could be just trash.

so i say you shouldnt really thinking about who is the greatest guitar riff creator of all time, but base on your own views, think of who is your favorite of all time.

NOW LET THE THUMBS DOWN COME WAHAHAHAHa

I think you're missing out on Slash and Billy Corgan over Blackmore and Morello.....but that's just me......oh....and Mike Campbell (Petty's guitarist).....

Being honest, all five of them actually have created riffs that are considered classics even to this day, example, Randy Rhoads, he was the one that created the riff for Crazy Train, there are those that say he did Bark at the Moon, but that song was put out after his death, it was Jake E. Lee that performed that one. Tony Iommi created every solo riff that Black Sabbath ever had. Ritchie Blackmore was famous, perhaps, for coming up with a riff that's so simple, that people consider it the hardest to play, Smoke On the Water. As for Tom Morello, he's done some good ones himself . . . it all depends on the individual point of view.

I'm for Jimmi Hendrix, myself, but then I live close to where he used to live.

randy rhoads all the way... RIP

No Eddie Van Halen? Now HE's got an ear for riffs.

Jimmy Page
Eddie Van Halen
Jimi Hendrix
Angus Young
Ritchie Blackmore

5. Stevie Ray Vaughn
4. Carlos Santana
3. Jimmy Page
2. Jimmy Hendrix
#1. Yngwie Malmsteen, hands down.

out of that list id have to say tom just cause of the cool effects he does, but i believe the greatest riff creators would be either angus young(ac/dc) and eddie van halen(van halen).
