What kind of amp should I get?!

Question: I want an amp that I can play a concert with 50-100 people and still be able to play it in my house. I want it so I can turn it up very loud and it will still sound good.

What brand should I get, what wattage should i get and how much should it cost?

Ive been playing guitar for 20 years. I have had very good luck with Crate amps. I just purchased a Crate EFX 200S. I love it. It will play softly and will really scream when you turn it up. 100 watt X 2 stereo amp. Celestion speakers. Speakers make all the difference in the world. It also depends on what type of music you play, you may not need all the channels that some amps offer, or you may need as much as you can get. There are a lot of factors I consider when I buy an amp. I mainly just record now and this amp suits the bill. Take your time and try out a lot of amps so you don't get buyers remorse.

Gorilla GG-80

I have a 100-watt Fender FM 212R, which is VERY loud, and can also be played in my house fine... it has that classic Fender clean tone, and two drive settings, with spring reverb and a foot pedal for the drive...

mine cost me about 300 Euros... about 250 pounds, which is nearly 500 dollars i guess

The good thing about tube amps is that the louder you play them, the better they sound. When you drive the tubes hard, rich harmonics come out. The down side is that tube amps are more costly than a solid state. You can get a decent tube amp for $600 (Peavy ValveKing) bur most good ones (Marshall, Vox,) are around $1000-1300. An awesome unit to have.

Try the new Vox amps.

Marshall Stack!!!

I've got two Fender FM 65's in stereo...and they are suitable for both and are not expensive!...£300 the pair!...

gotta agree with Guitar20. Ive been playing 25 years and had vevry amp on the planet, and Crate really fills the bill. $800 on a 100 watt 2/12 combo with 3 channels and you'll be in business for a long time. Big transformers, too, so you can power additional cabinets

depends on what you play...but i recomend kustom and marshall
