Why arent the Lost Boyz (Mr. Cheeks) considered one of the greatest rappers of a!

Question: 2pac and biggie are untouchable, and after them the arguement is usually wu-tang, nas, mobb deep...but i think the lost boys should definitley be up there with them. I might be a bit biased cause im from queens but how can people not consider these songs to be some of the greatest out there?

This definitely is a great question. I think they are really one of the best raps to come out of Queens. I don't know about New York when they first came out, but the summer over here in Mass. , "Lex, Coups..." was bumped everyday...it definitely was the hottest songs. I think they were definitely overlooked, probably because of airplay, but their strength in the streets were strong, and are respected so much that Freaky Tah (RIP), is still honored in memoriam even though he was just the hypeman, and rarely rapped. But those songs you posted do bring back crazy memories of the 90's. I love them still as well as another crew that went under the radar, Lords of the Underground. These groups definitely should have had more "shine".

as one of the only decent songs they have is called focus with M.O.P .

...hmm...you know that's a good question.....maybe because they only came out with 1 album that's noticeable while other albums were kinda underground. But Mr Cheeks is an ILL MC tho...people need to give him props!

He didn't make enough music, plus
a pretty face helps a lot and not
everyone thinks his face is pretty.
I love Mr. Cheeks and the Lost Boys!

I workout to lights cameras action
all the time. At the gym, silly!

I consider Legal Drug Money to be one of the best hip hop albums of the 90's and the wiki page agrees with me (whoever wrote it knew what they were talking about).
I hear ya, these guys were slept on a little bit. I don't put them in the same league as Wu Tang or Mobb Deep but they definitely deserve at least LOX status.
Thanks for the question, this may be the first Lost Boyz question I've seen.
