28 March 1969, Knoxville, Tennessee, USA and was an adopted child. Then, Rodney also worked at odd jobs to pay his way through college. It was while driving a delivery truck that he met the young lady who would become his wife. Today Rodney gives her full credit for supporting him as he pursued his musical ambitions. "We're a real couple. Neither of us come from money, but we both come from a good honest family. We work very hard at making it work. We're best friends."
He also has a son name Elijah. Elijah is 6-years, who is featured in the video for Rodney's song "Watching You." His son was 4 years old at time of filming.
He is married and he has a son I think he is like three of four years. If you watch his music video Watching You his son is the little boy in the beginning singing If You're Goin Through Hell. I don't think he has a daughter though.

I saw Rodney in concert and he explained that he has two stepdaughters and that is why he likes the song. I don't know if he wrote the song, but he did say it was for them. :-)
