How do I remix songs in Ableton?!

Question: I have Ableton live... I love it. I'am pretty decent at producing tracks from samples and loops. However, I would love to remix songs, I have no idea where to start

Begin by bringing a song you into Ableton, and make sure you warp it correctly. Then use the loop brace to isolate a section that loops well and you could use as a backdrop for adding other things to. This could be a section without vocals , for example. Once it's looping, click on the clip in its slot and press ctrl-D to duplicate it. The new clip will have the same loop position, so change it to find another. Keep doing this until you have the components you want to remix the song.

All these clips will be lined up in one slot. You can add an EQ8 to globally tweak all of the clips, but you might want to move some (or copy them) to another slot and really mess with the audio. Kill the bass, or use a ring mod. Each of these elements can play at the same time as their unmodified counterpart.

Add another midi channel and bring in a drumrack. Program some beats that fit well over top. Maybe try a little sidechaining to pump the original audio - key it to the kick or the hihats.

If you've gotten this far you'll get the idea. Set your global quantize to 1 bar and you can click from scene to scene seamlessly. You'll have enough at this point to start getting creative - this is just a rough guide to where to start.
