Besides the obvious (make up, costumes & 3-chord songs), what is the one common denominator that Kiss had as a rock group that no other group from their era (and pretty much beyond since) could boast about?

kiss is the only group that I know of where all four members contributed to the lead singing.
peter criss - black diamond
ace frehely - shock me
gene simmons - ladies room
paul stanley - king of the nightime world
paul may be known as the lead singer, but everyone of them has played that part :)

They were marketing geniuses. Between toys, shirts, movies, trading cards, everyone in that era heard of KISS weather they followed their music or not.
None of them could have gotten laid if they were not famous musicians?

I've been thinking on this, and this is the best I could come up with. I hate not knowing KISS trivia.
They're the only band to have all of its members simultaneously release solo albums, and all have all four albums appear on the Billboard chart at the same time. To the best of my knowledge, nobody has ever even attempted it since.
Most likely because they're learning from KISS' mistake. Those albums were the beginning of the end of the original lineup. What's even more ironic is that they were recorded in an attempt to save the band.
