* Bass and guitar solo all in one song, and it's FUNK--SICK!

* Thanks, I have to share this with my friends. :)

Anything by The Stone Roses, or Layla by Eric Clapton

it would have to be stairway to heaven by led zeplin

Okay, do you remember the 92 MTV Video Music Awards? Yeah, me neither, for the most part. What I DO remember about the show is the performance of November Rain by GnR with Elton John. Un-effing-believable! Slash climbs on the piano and just rips on his guitar...if you've never seen it, check it out, it's great.

Best bass solos ever - Anything by Jaco Pastorius, particularly Birdland or Slang.

My favorite guitar solos include Have a Cigar, Comfortably Numb, White Room, and live versions of Layla.

Bass- "My Generation" by The Who- John Entwistle
Guitar- "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin- Jimmy Page

Edit: I think everyone listing something else would imply that the link is not the best ever, so yes, people are answering the question.

In my opinion, NO...that link is not the best ever....

Billy Sheehan for Bass:

Randy Rhoads for guitar:

but you cant forget Eddie Van Halens Eruption!!!

haha I get what youre asking.
I do love the vid. I f*cking love hearing good bass.

This is a chain question. One link/answer is equal to the next. It's all a matter of opinion my man.And then it veers off into best emotional(feel) solo, fastest, best technically,genre,era...are ya kinda getting my drift?
Personally, check out James Jamerson,Pastorious,Sheehan,Stanley Clarke for Bass.
EVH,Vai,Django Reinhardt,Tommy/Phil Emmanuel for Guitar to name just a few.
Too draining to pick a fave piece from each.

Anyone in here ever heard of the Sex Machineguns? Probably not, but whatever, their lead guitarist is Circuit V Panther, and he's a freaking beast. Anyway, they have this one song, Famiresu Bomber, and during the bridge, V whips out these leads that just melt you face. They're not psycho or shred-tastic like most of his solos, but holy cow, its awesome.
