What happened to hip-hop, what it used to stand for and how it used to try to up!

Question: yo I feel you my ni99a even being in Brazil I also came from a tough neighborhood, reality rap started to blow here circa '93 with politic rhymes and uplifting/intellectual rappers... then with time the gangsta wave took it over out here, and mostly of the rappers here are "gangsta"... but we are following what are happening out there, this fake bling bubble gum commercial **** poppin' and that's disgusting. What matters now isn't the lyrics, just the beat and how "hustler" the guy is. Money f*cked up everything homie, that's the problem. We need a new focus. Conscious rappers just don't get the spot, but I'm happy that they're still holdin' it down (mos, talib, common, Dre, Afu-Ra, PEte Rock, Q-Tip, Rakim, and many others.

hip hop use to be based on pure talent, a poet using music as an outreach now is just alot of nursery rhymes. I love music but now i hate to turn on the radio. You still have so good artist you love and know the meaning of good music. Very few as far as rap anyway

it left (well at least a mojority) once rhh became a billion dollar industry.........there is no more allegience to the community, its to themselves and their selfish ways..period

It's there you just have to look for it....instead of turning the radio on and feeding into the corporate pockets which fuel this crap that is being marketed for the rich spoiled white kids who buy the crap and support them.... and it's not just Rap and Hip Hop it's all music.... but the real artist are there just like they have always been.... it's just fewer of them make it to the air now

hmmmmmmmmmmm
