My dad and I used to listen to good old country albums on the console stereo when I was a little girl. And we always shared a love for the music. listening to albums on the console show your age, i started listening to country the same way, my dad would record them on to a reel to reel and give them to my grandfather
i like
silver wings -Merle
and most of what Merle has done
Conway twitty, George Jones, porter Wagner, charlie pride
these are just some of my favorite classics artists, there are too many songs for me to list

Wichita Lineman by Glen Campbell. Awesome song :)

"Copperhead Road" by Steve Earle circa 1988.

My personal favorites result in a tie between:

"I threw Away the Rose." Written and originally recorded by Merle Haggard, later covered beautifully by George Jones and Lorrie Morgan (although, for obvious gender reasons, Lorrie had to adjust the lyrics a bit.)

And..........

"He Stopped Living Her Today," George Jones.

There are so many more as well. For instance, a number of Dolly Parton's earlier solo songs like, "Jolene," "Coat of Many Colors," etc. cannot be overlooked, nor can George Strait's "I Cross my Heart," and on, and on, and on !!

It's a good night for Singin' by Jerry Jeff Walker
and Hello In There by David Allan Coe

george strait:
fool hearted memory
amarillo by morning
you look so good in love
let's fall to pieces together
the chair
ocean front property
all my exes live in texas
famous last words of a fool
baby's gotten good at goodbyes

then of course, patsy cline's 'i fall to pieces', dolly parton's 'islands in the stream' or 'nine to five'

"Faded Love" by Bob Wills & His Texas Playbots

daddys little girl by tim mcgraw from the movie flicka

"Daddy's Hands" I loved it when I was little... I love it now.
