When using a capo, do you put the capo before or after the desired fret?!
Question: i got really confused when someone told me something different from what i've been told...

Say you want to play a b major but hate barring the whole second fret, put it on the second fret and play the a major shape, it will take the place of the open notes, instead of ebgdae, on the second fret it would become fmaj c maj a e fmaj
lets say you want to put the capo on the second fret. put the capo on the second fret and put it up as close to the third. you know the metal thing that is in between...just like when you play lead your fingers always have to be up against the fret. which is that metal thing.....foward...up foward not back.
