depends on what you can afford and how serious you are. If you can afford and feel it will not go to waste get the best that you can afford, upgrade when you feel you want to (and can afford to) why not get what you want right from the get go?

i got the squier kit, and damn did it suck, but nice for beginners.

but if you're good, dont bother
