If Kurt Cobain had lived, would Nirvana be the most played band of all time? Som!

Question: had not come yet.

Critics have said Smells Like Teen Spirit was only the beginning of how good he could have been.

Answers: had not come yet.

Critics have said Smells Like Teen Spirit was only the beginning of how good he could have been.

Yes, i think they would've been the next Beatles if Cobain hadn't died, just look at the phenomenal influence they've caused in their 5 years career, just imagine what would've happened if they had continued 'till now.

In Utero kicked Neverminds ***!

Critics are noobs

"In Utero" was Kurt's/Nirvanas Greater Years

i dont listen to much music anymore but when i was younger nirvana was one band i did listen to. kurt was already dead when i started listening to them but i think they could have got even bigger. although i think nirvana got even more popularity after kurt shot himself (aka murdered).

I think there was a good chance there would've been greater albums.....they still get a whole heck of alot of airplay even now, more than some of the newer artists.

We'll never know, its a damn shame

HELL YEH THEY WOULD HAVE BECOME BIGGER THAN ANYONE

Nirvana would probably still be the band that would own the Billboard Modern Rock Chart

dude just look at Foo Fighters. I mean if their drummer could get that much attention, imagine how famous they'd be with the whole band!

I agree. They would have taken over the 90's. It is quite a shame that Cobain died.

No, I don't think so. Funny how SLTS became music for Diamond Dallas Page, though! lol!
Since Cobain's death happened, it gave Dave Grohl the chance to start the Foo Fighters, who I prefer anyway (same type of guitar influence though).

EDIT: FF were at my local university last night and Grohl was supposedly at his best, coming off a grammy win.

i do believe that nirvana could have been one of the most popular bands in history, and also that grunge would still be alive today, if cobain had not died...i believe his best days, albeit potentially his darkest, in songwriting were definitely ahead of him, and although his work was progressively darkening i think there's no doubt, looking at some of the lyrical work of today's bands, that he would maintain a great following

YEs he would have

It is always sad when a Rock star dies as Young as Kurt Cobain did, just like with Jimi Hendrix Kurt's best days were ahead of Him when He passed. It was a tragedy for Rock.

You never can tell with bands, especially with a front man like Cobain, he was very capricious so it's hard to predict what he was going to do. For all we know, he could have pushed Nirvana in a more mainstream direction (hence more fame) but he could have pushed them back as an underground band. He always did hate being mainstream.
So I have no real answer to your question, but there was a huge chance that Nirvana could have reached a much larger audience and gotten more respect if they had a longer career.
