What is the difference between a maple drum shell or acrylic?!

Question: im looking to buy a new snare drum and id like to know what the difference between a maple, steel or acrylic shell. and no sarcastic answers please.

they will all sound different. maple is wood, acrylic is plastic
and of course steel is metal. depends on what type music you play. gonna do like marching band then metal or acrylic
gonna play rock then maybe any of them
for country or blues id say wood..
