Question: On a road trip a couple of years ago. Shadow Stevens in an interview was talking about some poor guy near Buffalo NY that had that number. How over night for about two years he was getting these phone calls from young men. I was surprised to find out someone would actually call the number

Sure they give it out, if it's available. I have heard some companies like pizza shops and plumbers try to get the number since it's so popular and easy to remember. I don't think I'd want it for my home, though.

In Rhode Island, there is a plumbing company that uses that number. I see it on their work vans all the time.
