Do 'pure' songwriters need publishing deals or record deals?!
Question: HOw do you go about getting a publishing deal? Is it easier just entering competitions and getting you're songs evaluated instead? I just want to write songs for other artists and not sing them myself. Thankyou for your help!

Deals have nothing to do with the act of songwriting. If you think you've made some songs good enough to sell then get your friends (hopefully you'll have some that will give you genuine criticism, not ones that'll say everything sounds great just because they're friends with you). The best way of being able to sell a song is probably to record it - so if you're not comfortable singing your own songs just for the purposes of demonstrating them then find someone who will sing them and record some.
