Scooped Mids?!
Question: Scooped mids...what exactly does that mean?
I mean, what are the settings like on a distortion pedal to do it.

Generally its when you have the bass and treble almost to full, and the mids at a minimum. On a basic amp set the bass(low) to 8, the treble(high) to 8, and the mid to 2 and fine tune from there. If you have a multi-band EQ it would look something like.....
