Am I a poser?!
Question: The music I like would be thrash metal,I take after my dad.My favorite bands are Old Metallica,Megadeth,Slayer.Anthrax and other bands.My dad basically got me into thrash metal when I was 13 when he let me listen to metallica's first album kill 'em all back in 2003,that's how it started from there.Then 2 years after that I started to listen to slayer,anthrax,and pantera even though pantera is not pure thrash but mostly groove metal.Last year I broudened my list of bands I listen to starting with megadeth.Im kind of new to megadeth but i've known them since 2001 but I wasn't in to music back then.Then I tried to get into them in 2006 but I couldn't ,but now im into them I like megadeth a little better than metallica.However I kind of feel like a poser because I listened nu metal before I listened to thrash metal and when I started to listened to thrash metal.The bands I used to like were linkin park,korn,and disturbed.I started to realize nu metal was garbage when I was 15.

My Music taste has changed a hell of a lot from when I was Your age till now..everyone's does.
Most People listen to crappy bands when they are Young then grow out of it..it's normal

I don't think you're a poser or a phony unless you claim to like something you really don't... or if you don't like stuff you've never listened to. Especially if you assume you know something which you don't know--about music included. Just like what you like, don't like what you don't like.

I don't think you're a poser. I don't really believe in "posers" anyway, but "traditionally" a poser is someone who tries to label themselves as something they are not.
If you like this music, then you like it. Who cares? Like whatever you want. And everyone, I think, goes through a nu-metal phase, anyone who gets into metal or rock anyway. I know I did too, and then I realized it was garbage.

I wouldn't call you a poser! Back in the day, you would've been called a head banger or metal head and that's what I still say. My daughter (14 y/o) calls them, "stoners" (pretty general term, I know!). Don't look at it as being a traitor to your music, but, more of youthful ingnorance!
If you like it your not a poser. Don't worry so much. Music is about enjoying and not Wasting your time worrying whether you deserve to say you like it or not.

If you really are into those bands, then there really is no question.
Just because you like different bands and music doesn't really make you a poser, a poser is someone who acts like they're into the music just to fit in with the trend.

nope its not a poser to love rock and heavy balls to the wall metal i feel for you because my birth father was never in my life so i learned what i know now from my mother and my friends that i had when my friends told me that ac/dc sucked i told them to buzz off i did my own thing heck i even changed my name to my mother's last that's metal
