International Singing Competitions?!
Question: I'm a singer. I've heard that I could go very far and that I have a beautiful voice by professionals. Are there any competitions any one knows of? I'd like helpful answers please. 10 points if your answer is satisfactory! Thank you.

This is an opera lover's magazine, but also has adverts and and announcements for some things in the actual opera world. some of the major international competitions should be listed. If nto, there will be links and tips enough to get you more of the information you want.
Please be aware that most of them have an extremely strict age limit, so check out their lists of regulations.
If you live in an area with either an excellent music department in the university, or a really spectacular public library, you will find other business-internal magazines there. the Germans have several union magazines ( everyone here belongs to the union. it isn't a question of joining, it's more a question of which one) that might be available to you. Most soloists belong to the gbda, so you might look up their web site/ magazine
Choristers belong to the VdO, and have the magazine Oper und Tanz. The major competitions are also listed there.
The orchestras belong to the DOV, and their magazine is called Das Orchester. some competitions are listed ( mostly the ones that are vocal and instrumental in nature).
I'm sure google will offer you more infornation if you just type in international singing competitions, you know...
Most of these competitions are structured as entry-level auditions for a professional job. It's definitely not for the faint-of-heart, as the competition is extremely qualified.
( Some of us do get jobs without ever having won a competition, though)
