OK, 30-somethings, admit it : Who has considered purchasing the 25th anniversary!

Question: Happy Friday, R&P peeps.

I was 11 years old when that album came out. Wow. I can also remember my friends wearing the one glove, the red jacket, and attempting to moonwalk.

Not me. I've read enough reviews that have all said the same thing. If you like the original album, get it. But this new one is just a remaster with extra song versions redone by artists who just butcher them.

Nothing is worse than someone taking a song that is great and turning it into a total nightmare. All reviews I have read said the new versions are a waste of time to listen to and make you want to cringe.

I'll stick with the original edition.

Deke, I still have the original album!

Well, I'm a 40-something, but I would consider it, just for the sake of nostalgia.

My original copy was vinyl.

I was 6, and I desperately wanted a red jacket, but it didn't seem as cool as mikes. I will most likely pick one up.

I can safely say that I have never and will never own a copy of that album.

NP: "Stranger" - Leverage

No, i was sick of that album when they were playing on the radio. given the events of his life since then, i made the right choice.

That was in '87, right? I just took a look through my WMP library. here is what i have from that year:
Rush -- Hold Your Fire (my first time seeing them live, incredible show)
Chuck Berry -- Hail Hail Rock n Roll (live w/ clapton, cray, etta james, keith richards, and all in my home town)
Billy Joel -- KOHUEPT (Live in Leningrad) - great selection of his stuff, in addition to the greatest hits 1/2

and for Pink Floyd fans like myself, we had a double bill that year--
A Momentary Lapse of Reason
Roger Waters -- Radio KAOS

he should have sent that glove to James Brown years ago.

WOW! I was 4 months old then. I actually bought the album when it was released!!! Even screamed at the record bar attendant because he said I was under-aged . LOL!!!

Only after I watched The Wedding Singer, did I realize just how long ago that was. I was six when Thriller came out. Watched the video when it "World Premiered" on MTV.

I had nightmares from that video ...

I liked Michael briefly when I was 6 that's it.

I actually had the album from when it first came out but, Katrina stole it.

I'd consider buying it if not for the freak he has become.

I still have my original vinyl copy that I bought for five dollars (used, but in excellent condition). It seems to me that the only reason to get the remastered version (unless you don't have your original copy anymore) is to get the covers of the songs, which I've heard aren't very good.

No i will not give my hard earned money to that
sicko
he should be in jail

I was 18 when it came out. And it was cool, avant garde.

But I'm not buying it.

I am 40 something with a raging Michael Jackson phobia.

I think it came out in 1983...making me about seven...my mom had it on cassette. I had a Michael Jackson poster in my room and a picture of him in my Hello Kitty wallet. Really.

I'd like to buy it for the remastered quality, but I probably would never listen to the covers.

And I did have the red zippered jacket...think I was the only kid in my grade school in rural West Virginia to have one. :-)

37 here and proud to honestly say I have never owned or purchased any Michael Jackson CDs, Thriller or otherwise and have ZERO intentions of ever changing that status.

I'm not a 30 something, but that album was the first record I remember seeing and listening to when I was little. I remember it folding out and MJ was like laying down... Seems like there was a tiger or something... God, it's been so long, I can't say for sure. I later purchased it on cassette when I was a little older and it was a fun album. I'm thinking about getting it, but it depends on what all I see at the cd shop.
