Singing Advice or Tips?!

Question: I'm still young I want to learn to sing, but my voice isn't that strong, (I still sound like a little girl) how can I sing better, or louder without sounding crappy?
What age does your voice sound older?

The singing type is like Paramore's Hailey Williams.

Any tips or advice?

Hailey Williams has an incredibly strong voice and has been training with singing coaches ever since she was little.

I sing, and I sounded like a little girl until recently as well. (http://www.myspace.com/dekadens)

Your voice starts to mature after puberty. In actual fact, your voice constantly changes the more you sing.
To make your voice louder you need to first of all gain confidence, and second of all gain strength in your voice.

My advice is to get a singing coach if you really want to do this. You will not become a Hailey overnight, it takes alot of hard work and practice, for me it took 8 years of practice and I'm STILL learning!

Well let me tell you something i am 11 years old and i am in chorus and i am still learning to make my voice go higher.. My teacher tells me to do a little scale that is real easy it goes Doh,Ray,Me,Far,So,La,Te,Doh. it is real easy and now all my friends say i sing like Ashley Tisdale..

well paramore isnt really singing. its like...rock singing. singing and that other type are two different things. does that make sense? anyways, to make your voice stronger, you should do excersizes (i spelled that wrong..) Sing up and down a piano scale and keep rising scales but not so much so that your voice hurts. maybe you should join your schools chorus, it definitley helps for people who want to sing but arent really sure how, and the teacher will teach you the right technique. in order to sing louder, you need to take breathes from your stomach. to try that, pant like a dog so that your stomach jumps a bit. before you start a phrase, breathe from your stomach and it will really help you learn how to control your volume. dont risk volume for quality (;

The most important thing is to NOT strain your voice. It puts bumps on your vocal chords and you don't want this because it will limit your range when you do get older. Try ro sing in YOUR nateral speaking voice. Practice Somewhere Over The Rrainbow It Goes from low C to high C. Sing On!

The same answer as the guy who asked on the street, "How do I get to Carnegie Hall?"

The answer, "Practice." ;)

Seriously, though, good practice is the best (and only real) way to strengthen your instrument. Almost invariably, you have to learn to sing with a group before you can solo well. You have to learn to sing properly before you can break the rules and belt something out.

Join your school (and/or church) choir. Don't worry about being the best, or that your voice won't "make it." It will get better with time. I went from being a high tenor at 12/13 to a deep baritone at 17-18. Where you'll be in a few years will be different, but better, whatever your range is and will be.

Good luck and keep singing!
