UK for sure, although Ireland did give us U2 as mentioned and that has to be worth an honourary mention.
UK is the officially recognised country by the UN, but there's England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland making it up which are semi-countries. Then we have the British Isles and Britain which complicate things even further...!

Yes, the United Kingdom is a country [made up of constituent countries; England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales].
But this isn't a geography class, hehe.
England has produced some of my favourite bands/artists and some of the most influential of all time so England is my choice.
the uk or america. with the exception of a couple other good eastern european bands (Accept, Scorpions) i cant think of any good rock bands that arent from the UK or USA.

I'm American, and there's a lot of great American music, but I have to be honest, England has produced the greatest rock stars of all time. The Beatles, Stones, Who, Zeppelin, and on and on and on. For such a tiny country, it's amazing really.
