I went to the first Monsters of Rock festival in 1980. It was headlined by Rainbow, with Graham Bonnet on vocals.
Judas Priest were on before Rainbow and for me gave the best performance of the day.
There were some fantastic bands in the line up, Tygers of Pan Tang, April Wine and many more.
I was hit in the back with a bottle of piss. Even in them days, when everyone else had long hair, I sported a shaved head and a goatee. When I turned around and glowered, I expect the culprit shat his kecks!!!!!
I went to the one when Kiss were there, I think it was '87 or close to that. Bon Jovi, I think were headlining. I remember just before Kiss came on, Jonathan King walked between the net curtains and was immediately bombarded with hundreds of bottles. He definitely deserved that, pervert that he is. I saw loads of things flying around even a carpet, believe it or not.
yep most of them and i thought bon jovi were shite the crowd around me were all shouting for him to jump when he was on top of the stage
