Elvis took much of his style from black people
but to say he robbed them of their songs is ludecious!
elvis had writters on his pay roll the same as most artist do today ! you thinkn whitney houston wrote I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU ? try Dolly Parton.(and that is just one of many examples)
has any one every stepped forward and claimed credit for piracy against elvis? i think if that were true people would be lined up at graceland with lawyers trying to get his money!
and at the front of the line would be al sharpton and jesse jackson! elvis rocked then and he still does now.dead or alive he still sales more records than50cent or tupac combined.

It was the times, unfortunately. They felt that white people wouldn't want to listen to songs sung by black singers. That's why there's a version of Pat Boone singing Tutti Frutti. Thank God things have changed!

Hes not the only one.
Pat Boone is another.
White older people at the time(I'm white btw) didn't want white teenagers to be influenced by Blacks, through music or anything else, so they wanted White singers.
So singers like Pat Boone were used.

Scarlett is right, but beyond that, you cannot infringe on a copyright where one did not exist in the first place. While you may view the songs as stolen, it's really that they were given. The writers were in on it. They knew the songs would never be heard any other way. It was just how it was back then.

he also wrote many of his own songs and today many white people write black songs and dont get the credit..thank God..But I will agree with the fact many songs that were written and sung by blacks sounded better than when a white person came in a re do the song and slayed the song

Stole his music from Black people? LOL Elvis didn't write any music himself. He played what the record company had on hand from songwriters, much like what Motown did. So, using your theory, Motown also stole songs from black people.
