Jazz as close as possible to this one?!

Question: So I listened to "Julie London - Cry me a river" (V for Vendetta soundtrack) and it's fantastic. What a song!
I'd be correct to think that it is jazz, yes? I hope I know at least that much.
Jazz is great, but it's THAT kind of jazz that I like the most. And then again it's that kind of jazz I know nothing of.
Could you people direct me to music as close as possible to this one. Performers or separate songs - either will do. Just jazz that is slow and relaxing enough to make me pull the trigger.

Thanks in advance.

I will answer some of your question, thoroughly.

I know Cry Me a River very well. The albums that I am suggesting are exactly what you are searching for. Sure thing.

If you want the mellow, smokey jazz you absolutely have to have the Dexter Gordon album called Ballads. Its a collection of Dexter's ballads. Dexter Gordon had a big sound, and he could play a ballad in an amazing way. Trust me, you have to get this album. The album cover itself is a sign of how the music sounds. http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg...

Other greats...

Kenny Burrell-Midnight Blue.
Its called Midnight Blue for a reason. This entire album is mellow and very interesting to hear. I'm sure this album will be good for you.

Ben Webster (two albums)
1. At the Renaissance.
This is a very laid back live set of music. Webster did not know he was being recorded. The set is very casual, like friends getting together just for the fun of playing music together. There is a version of the great standard Stardust that is so good.
2. Ben Webster For lovers
is a collection of songs from various dates. After hearing the above mentioned album, you will probably want to hear more of Ben Webster. This should be your next one, then get the album Soulville.

Stan Getz for Lovers.
Another collection, this time by Stan Getz. This is a good intro to Stan Getz. There is also an album called Stan Getz/Bill Evans, another great one.

Coleman Hawkins-Night Hawk.
This album features Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis playing tenor in the right speaker, and Hawkins playing tenor in the left speaker. Its heaven. The bass player is Ron Carter, its one of my favorite albums of his playing. This whole album is great.

Lester Young was a great sound. Try the Verve Records collection of his. He is a legend

Diana Krall

Diana Krall---anything she does is fine with me.
Jane Monheit-- what a voice, her newest "surrender" you will love.

Jacqui Naylor---"Live East/West"
Diane Schuur--- a little earthier.
Others include Natalie Cole, Erin Bode, Sade,Nora Jones.

Pure torch songs--my favorite is Carly Simon's "Torch" the recording is awesome.
