Smile and say THANKS, ... and remember,..."never look a gift horse in the mouth" (if you don't know what that cliche' means, ...it means when GIVEN a horse, don't insult the giver by checking it's teeth [a common quick check of age and health] as if you were BUYING the horse). So roll with it. Years from now when you're established, it'll make a great "humble start story", and will make you that much more interesting!

right well i didnt read your thign proper but i get the just i think look if you dont think you should accept it then dont n yeh yah can get a pain tjob bro cya

Um, right. Listen, if someone offers to give you a freaking guitar, you humbly accept it. Who cares what color it is, dang.

Everyone learns on a pig of a guitar, I learnt on a 12 string acoustic with the neck half snapped off, If you got upto the 7th fret it started going out of tune!
Accept it, as my mum always says, Owts better than Nowt.

OH! and kudos for being a guitar playing chick ...awesome!

Your lucky ....I wish somebody had given me a guitar when I was starting out...!

If you really wanted to change it you could always pu stickers on it. It would be cheaper. But just look at as a starter guitar. It really does not matter what it looks like as long as you can play it. The paint does not affect the sound.

Thank everyone for being so nice...

paint it?...okay I guess you don't understand...It is better than what you had....
Be gracious and carry it like it is the best guitar in your club

just relax if u dont like it u could sell it and buy one of ebay or just
get a new body with an ace paint job. i dont know how much they are but feel free to ask me questions in the future about it.

I personally have more than one kind of guitar. And it has no effect on what the guitar looks like to how it sounds. If you are playing guitar for the image then it isnt the instrument for you. Guitar takes dedication and practice. I would've been very happy to have my first guitar given to me, but if you take this guitar you should really really be dedicated. They are kind of expensive and the teacher is giving it away for free. So accept his kindness and take the guitar the way it is. That is my advice anyway.

you should just accept it for what it is. as long as it plays well, it shouldn't matter if it looks ugly. but if you do wanna get a paint job, it depends on what you want. it's just like a car. you can get a simple paint job out of spray cans or a more professional one from an automotive process.

you should not care so much about the image of your instrument! some of the slickest sounding guitars don't look that hot! learn to play well on a piece of junk! We musicians understand that if you can make a piece of junk sound good you are a great musician! I know it is important for you to feel good about yourself while playing and the image of your instrument plays a role in those feelings! however, It really does not matter in the grand scheme of things! About a paint job. It would be less expensive to buy a halfway decent guitar! guitars are desined around the wood, paint and electronics! If you paint over something cheaply your guitar will probably sound lame! Giving a guitar a face lift usually is not worth it! The best guitar series and guitar learning methods with a decrnt guitar that is of above average quality is on this link! as far as what you want to play after you learn....get the same guitar as your favorite guitarist!

i wish my decision were this easy....you sound more concerned about owning something ''pretty'' than learning how to play it... like one of those people who just want to ''say'' they play guitar.....you should be so grateful you even get this oppurtunity....remember,its never the tools, its the carpenter...now go learn how to PLAY.

first take it & see if it is really ygly. if it is then use stickers & make it look good

It doesn't matter if it looks good. Its the sound that counts. If you really don't like it, go buy a new one! Its your choice and your money, you decide what to do with it.

SOUND!!! NOT LOOKS !!!!
