Will metal rise in the U.S.?!
Question: I am talking about Real Metal. I am not talking about mainstream MTV or those wanna-be-Metal bands dressed like Gothic-Emos.. They're fake.. And I am not talking about Nu-Metal.. Other than that, will the U.S. Like Europe, have a big movement when it comes to Metal? We have a small one going on with bands like D??TH, Nevermore, Kamelot, Iced Earth, Circle II Circle, Dream Theater and Shadows Fall you know, real metal? And I have heard alot very good underground symphonic-power metal artists recently on myspace, but can't get a hold of their songs. Will this movement continue and rise in the U.S. like it did Europe? I am talking about Folk/Melodic Death and Power Metal, they're all over Europe, and the bands there are gaining large fan-bases here.. The question is, why havn't we heard any new kick-*** bands using these beautiful ways to play metal here in the U.S.? We also got some real Rock N' Roll again with bands like Silvertide and Lynam.. Will this movement become huge?

I pretty much agree with Scream Bloody Gore.. but also the main problem with American Metal is crap like American Idol.There's just so much crap flooded into the mainstream like that.Those other countries that a lot of good metal come from don't really have a "Hollywood". And you don't hear of rap and country bands from anywhere else in the world. Just here, so those countries arn't dilluted with all that.Not to put those genres down but it's true. And you don't see Tim McGraw or Nelly touring Sweden, Polland, Germany and stuff, like alot of American Metal bands either.
Trust me, I'm an old-school metalhead and would love to see it rise again more than anyone, but that's why I'm doubtful.

Metal has received a lot of attention recently. I guess when people really take the time to listen and see how complex it really is to play, it will get more respect. With that, maybe through word of mouth will become bigger than it is. I don't know if it will ever be able to break out of it's underground roots though.
Yes and No. The problem with American metal is the fact that we have forgotten the rules to makes a perfect album. There is no more Bay Area thrash or Florida death metal influences, now it is just generic riffs, and breakdown, same repetative vocals and no innovation anymore.
The only plus side of this, is we still have old school bands like Nile, Suffocation, Immolation, Testament, Slayer that are still coming out with records and then some good bands Like Mastodon, Lamb of God, God Forbid and Shadows Fall who are very innovative when it comes to the music.
i hope so metal iz the ****! it's like my fave genre but the reason i think its gonna b really hard is because some people judge way 2 quickly and get terrified when they see dudes with heavy eyeliner (in whitch i think is HOT!) and if u wanna see metal get huge, do something about it. make like a myspace or youtube account.i have a youtube page (youtube.com/xMrsMarilynMansonx)to make people like marilyn manson. i am OBSESED with him

id rather it not go mainstream, keep it underground. metal fans are the best fans. i dont want no mainstream kiddies becoming metal fans. thats whats emo is for...keep the small fan base to us select few that are real fans..
