lol theres nothing more to say..all its true...in other words..singing its not easy at its looks...you need practice and time..dedication..and a good tutor...doing some exercises the wrong way could hurt your voice even damage it..so be carefull with what u do it..and the key its practice..take care

breath in from the diaphragm very deeply and use your air to project your voice. do not strain the throat.
i am in a singing class

:]
good luck

I suppose you could practice singing songs with higher pitches... i have a very deep singing voice and that seems to help me a little bit, but not much

do scales, or sirens.
start of really low and go Wooooooooooooooooooooooo, while going up and down, like a siren.
also, if you do arpeggios (chords) going up and down the scale, that should help. also, do the do re mi. i know it sounds silly, but that is what our choir director does with my group, and it helped us improve vocal range a lot this year. and try to do as much as it a cappella as possible, because this helps pitch, quality, and control as well.

practice by singing scales and singing higher to the point where you can't sing past that pitch . do it everyday, and eventually, you'll get those high notes. good luck!

open your mouth very wide when you sing make sure you can see you uvula (learned that from singing lessons) always use your head voice :)

Extending range above the break point means learning to control proper vocal muscles. Things that will help:
1. Proper breathing and support are ESSENTIAL!!! Many called it breathing from a diaphragm. As you go higher, you should feel more pressure down (like going to a bathroom). THIS IS THE KEY!
2. Lip bubbles (rolls) slide up and down.
3. Sing "Nay, Nay, Nay" on octave scales. Make it a whiny tone. This will kick you into head voice.
4. Do a siren on a "YAY" sound starting low and going higher. This has to be in full loud voice. You will break at first, but this is typical and normal
5. You might wanna get a vocal coach and purchase some singing products. "Raise Your Voice" by Jaime Vendera is highly recommended. This is where I suggest you to start. "Singing Success" by Brett Manning, will get you higher, but it lacks proper support and breathing techniques. Without them, you will tense up. "Vocal Power" by Jim Gillete is also pretty good!

Ultimately it all comes down to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!! LOTS OF IT! If you are not willing to put the time in, you will not get those high notes.
