Which rapper from the 90's would you want to come and save hip hop today?!

Question: seriously 2 many 2 name

Answers: seriously 2 many 2 name

Well, hiphop and rap don't need saving right now. Yeah, mainstream crap sucks, but the underground is fantastic. Listen to some Aesop Rock or Cannibal Ox, it'll blow your mind.

save hip hop from what?

Q Tip, perhaps?

Method Man or Tupac. Rap is dying quick.

no one. the 90's was good for mainstream but right now i think the underground is just as good if not better. personaly i dont care if the mainstream dies or not. most of those rappers and producers are way overpaid.

Save from what?

Well, with a name like "gangstaboy" you can't expect him to be too aware with the "state of Hip Hop"

Don't generalize and say all the mainstream sucks...

No rapper from the 90's is going to save hip hop. They will have to come from the 70s or 80s, when rappers actually talked about getting out of the ghetto not being welfare bums and crack dealers.

What are you talking about?

how old are you?

Hiphop it self!

Hip Hop is still around.
There is just a bigger fuss with all the "Mainstream" music on the radio being "Hip Hop" it's far from

FOR EXAMPLE:
Common
Talib Kweli
Atmosphere
Wale
Lupe Fiasco
.....all came out w/ new cd's. Nas is wrong Hip Hop is still alive.. just a little underground.
[but my favorite 90's song= '93 till infinity by Souls Of Mischief & Common= I used to love H.E.R.]

Tupac, I believe, would be the only rapper with the talent and charisma to break through and save rap. This day in age I don't even think Pac would get that much publicity, even though he is considered the epitomy of hip hop.

Mos Def and Talib Kweli are the most likely current rappers that could turn this around, but they are all underground. I think when Mos Def started acting, hip hop took a major blow. I can only wonder what Blackstarr could have done if they were at it constantly. The substance and rhyme scheme in their raps is second to none as of now, although you can make an argument for Common.

Biggie, and 2pac
