Question: What are the top 10 all-around , all-category included songs of the 90s and today, which you think REALLY define these last 18 years? Meaning, they stand for what our culture/generation, etc stands for, what our society/culture is going through, our values, where we are as a society, all other things too.
Mine from 1990 to 2008 include:
1)Smells like Teen Spirit, Nirvana. (captured the essence of the 90s, early 90s at least)
2)My heart will go on, Celine Dion ( i know i know, but this movie and song were so huge and just really meant something)
3)Baby One More Time, Britney Spears (the epitome of the teen-pop phase which lasted quite some time)
4)I will always love you (whitney houston)
5)Mariah Carey, One Sweet Day.
6)American Idiot, Green Day.
this list sort of sucks but that's all I can think of right now.
