well i dunno about your family but for my family i'd use real feelgood songs like ''walking on sunshine'' by Katrina and the waves and "we built this city" by starship
The best song for any precious memories on video, I think, is "Little Wonders" by Rob Thomas. Just the way he sings in that song gives me chills, and it's about all those little moments that remain in your memory and in your heart forever. Problem is it's not much in the way of a rock song, but it's a nice ballad nonetheless.
I'd also recommend Walking On Sunshine, and, something which I'll never forgive myself for.....
MMMBop by Hanson. Who knows what the hell that song is about, but its upbeat, fun and happy and I think it would suit your video just right.
And My December by Linkin Park is also good, but it's kind of a sad, slow sort of song.....
