Motorhead were groundbreakers. Combining their heavy hard rock metal sound with the energy of the yet to be realized punk movement (thought definitely not themselves punk) Motorhead influenced generations of bands to come. Plus Lemmy Kilmister just rocks. With his R & B and prog rock background, not to mention his time as a roadie for Jimi Hendrix, he brings so much to the band’s sound. And what great irony that he is the son of a vicar.

Lemmy - I saw him hanging out at the Rainbow on Sunset when he wasn't touring. I also liked him when he was in Hawkwind.

seriously its becuase their songs are so quick and relentless and they kinda started thrash metal. they rule.

Because Motorhead was the metal band it was OK for punks to like...and they had the combined force of about 10 semi trucks at 90 miles an hour slamming into your head all at once.
My friend Seth saw them back in 1988...now Motorhead does not like stage diving...so at the beginning of the concert Lemmy said to the crowd "This is my stage, you stay off it"...and then started playing. Classic stuff.

Hi Law Man 42! Well without Lemmy it would not even be any motorhead for all we know, so thanks to Hawkwind for kicking him out of the band! Gotta respect the man big time cause Lemmy is harder than most ha ha ha! Peace and love from a music freak in Norway
