Supposed to be September now. Was March 18, but they (of course) got sick of sitting around the studio... hence the "Sick of the Studio Tour with Mastodon(?)
They say it's gonna be good... but I've heard that for the last 4 studio albums now... wrong every time.
As it was said above, my expectations are pretty low, so who cares, until it actually comes out.
Supposed to be in March sometime. I hear a lot of bragging about the heaviness, speed, and long length of the tunes but we will just have to judge for ourselves when it comes out.
st anger was very dissapointing. i hope they release it this year but their site doesn't reveal much. i hope they tour at least

I have really low expectations for the new album, that way I won't be disappointed... I think it is obvious that the 80s Metallica is long gone
Their next album is supposed to be released in March I think. I hope it's better than St. Anger!
metallica is still over seas aren't they? any way i heard it was supposed to be out in march. and you know what mustane got kicked out of metallica! and who ever said metallica sucked needs to actually listen to it.
September this year (been delayed several times). Can't wait. Metallica have been quick to say its nothing like St. Anger, indeed they say its like a 'missing link' between '...And Justice For All' (one of my favourite albums) and 'Metallica' (the Black Album). If so it should be awesome. And just listening to metallica's recent tours, they sound really fired up and ready to knock us all out with an excellent album! I really hope its as good as i think it could be.
