Defretting my bass guitar.?!

Question: A couple of questions. But why waste 5 points per question when I can get them all right here?

1)How bad/critical is it if I chip the fretboard while
pulling the frets out?

2) Will the neck bend or something without the strings on?
I have heard something like that, that the neck will bend
without the weight of the strings etc. Whats up with this?
Is this a big concern?

3) Will this resolve the rattling of my strings? Like
when I am in drop d or even c?

Do not PULL you frets out.
Slide them out side ways by tapping them with TOOLS.
The slots must be filled with something. Wood, glue, epoxy.
A guitar tech should do this. If you do it, you will wreck your neck.
Without frets, your round-wound strings will eat the snot out of your finger board. You will want to go to flat-wound.

Before you rip it apart, ajust your truss rod like the other person said. It just might remove your problem.

If you have never played fretless, it takes some getting used to. It does help you play better. Then you will have to "HEAR" the notes insted of SEEING them on the neck.

Intonation is alittle harder with a fretless. Playing higher notes will be harder unless your intonation is dead on.

Dont wreck your sh1t.

what you've done is destrot your neck.I 've seen several basss with the fretts pulled and not olny do the look like crap they play baddly.the neck will actually streighten out without tension from the strings.to stop the rattle of your strings you have to increase the amount of relief in your neck by tightening your rus rod.this shoud be done by a pro.
