Best frontman/lead guitarist team of all time?!

Question: For me it's Axl and Slash. Other good ones were Page/Plant and Van Halen/Roth.

Answers: For me it's Axl and Slash. Other good ones were Page/Plant and Van Halen/Roth.

I completely agree with you.
Axl Rose and Slash were an amazing frontman/lead guitarist team. They just... worked.

As far as frontman and guitarist, its Diamond David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen. No question about it

That would be Jimmy Page and Robert Plant

Who, WAYYYY no question about it are WAY better than Diamond Dave and Eddie VH.

Anthony Keidis and John Frusciante

Ouch.

Page/Plant is a no contest winner for me, but Van Halen/Roth is a close 2nd.

Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were good. Bon Scott and Angus Young from AC/DC were always fun. Peter Buck and Michael Stipe from REM are nice for a change of pace. Mick Ronson was great playing with David Bowie. Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.

I'm partial to Freddie Mercury and Brian May.

MARK KNOPLER - DIRE STRAITS

lol
i know I'm going to get stuff for this answer

but I'd have to say Pete Wentz.

hear me out.

I understand you said OF ALL TIME, but the truth it, the times are changing. They are the new era of music and I fee like "times" changed at 2000. It was like a whole clean slate. Fall Out Boy is a good band that HAD unique sound when they first came out. Now all the other bands sound like them. And yes, I know that Pete Wentz is a bass player, but he's basically what sells the Fall Out Boy albums now days.

If not Fall Out Boy, Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance as the frontman. He's gorgeous and has a voice. For me, at least, his lyrics are saying the things that I was nevr able to stand up and say to an audience of 1000 people.

just my opinions :)

Axl Rose and Slash or Robert Plant and Jimmy Page.

Of all time? That's a tough one. Each era has its own parameters for 'best' which gets surpassed by the next generation of rockers that watched their predecessors before they got famous.

Robert Plant and Jimmy Page probably should win this award. I saw Plant on a solo tour and he brought it home. I can only imagine how hot it would have been if Page was there. If you go by Led Zeppelin's record sales they come in first by far. Led Zeppelin has outsold the Beatles and that is a fact that even the Beatles acknowledged back then. You can't argue with that level of success.

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have always brought the house down and still do. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry are a slightly newer version of Jagger/Richards. I saw Axl Rose and Slash's Gun's 'n Roses open up for the Cult (Electric tour) before they became superstars and they were stellar, but their falling out null and voids them from the running.

I just saw Van Halen again in December of 07. Since I am the judge here, David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen win best frontman and lead guitarist by a longshot. They almost were not in the running because of their own falling out. Because they literally kissed and made up last year they most certainly qualify, and cook ten times better than they did in 1984.

YES anthony kiedis and john frusciante.
amazing.

Jacoby Shaddix and Slash.

Had to be Plant and Page from Zeppelin as 1st

Ozzy with Randy Rhoads 2nd, they were electric together on-stage.

Axle and Slash 3rd

Good question, but I was struggling with this one.

IAN GILLAN/ RITCHIE BLACKMORE

DAVID COVERDALE/ RITCHIE BLACKMORE

MICK JAGGER/ KEITH RICHARDS

FREDDY MERCURY/ BRIAN MAY

and yesterday I watched Gillan with Steve Morse.... Absolutely amazing, sublime.

overall, i am going to go with a pair that only one person has yet mentioned, and that's freddie mercury and brian may...people overlook may's alternate contributions to queen, especially in the songwriting, but everyone has to respect his ability as a guitarist...and very simply freddie had the voice of God

honorable mention on the list goes to axl rose and slash, robert plant and jimmy page, and mick jagger and keith richards

Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Buckethead.

No question. Of all time? it can be no one else but these two icons: Robert PLANT and Jimmy PAGE.

1. Plant / Page (Led Zepplin)
2. Osbourne / Rhodes (Ozzy)
3. Roth / Van Halen (Van Halen)
4. Anselmo / Abbott (Panterra)
5. Osbourne / Wylde (Ozzy)
6. Jagger / Richards (Rolling Stones)
7. Hetfield / Hammet (Metallica)
8. Axl / Slash

Tyler and Perry from Aerosmith
Ted Nugent and his ego
Diamond David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen.
Bon Scott and Angus Young
