There are a couple things that can factor into how taut your strings are. The first being the fore mentioned tuning. This will typically effect your strings the most. Non-standard tuning, on purpose or on accident, can lead to lots of wear on strings and can make them very tight. Especially when switching back and forth.

The second is the gauge of string. The thicker the string the tighter you will have to pull it to get it in tune. So if you want lower and looser action, trying lighter gauge strings. This will also effect your overall tone as well, so keep that in mind.

The third is the setup of your guitar. A raised bridge or nut will move the strings further from the fretboard and make it seem like the strings are tighter when you're playing. Also, if your guitar has an adjustable truss rod, you action might be effected by how it is setup.

I would say you might want to take it into a shop and tell them what you want out of your guitar. Especially if it's the overall setup. I don't recommend anyone mess with their setup unless they're experienced with it, you can make your guitar a giant pain to play or in some cases even damage it if you make a mistake.

you might be tunned up a bit... you prolly aren't really in tune, prolly tuned too high....

Just loosen the strings

if they are new strings that is the problem you just have to wear em' out, if they aren't new strings then I have no clue why they are tight they aren't supposed to be, it might be the brand the best brand to get is Ernie ball Super slinky, they are in a pink and black package, they are awesome!

Its like that or your having it on a wrong tuning by a couple of degrees, i always tune my bass guitar and sometimes it feels tight when i play but it sounds right, But its not, thats why i have a digital tuner.Or maybe you were always playing it on a couple of notes lower than it actually was so then when you tuned it again its right, That means all the previous times you were playing it the tuning was incorrect.

Well....if you have a floating bridge, you probablly have to much tension on your springs.....so you would have to loosen the clamps that hold the springs ( same problem that i had but my gutar tech fixed it up for me. You sould get it done by a pro because you dont wana destroy your guitar)...........I f you dont have a floating bridge, you probably have to adjust your truss rod ( which you should also have done by a proffesional).

i have that problem on my acoustic... you need a smaller bridge i think

check what guage strings you have.the thicker they are the tighter they feel. try some .10 guage.make sure the action is low enough too.
