The action on my guitar is way to low?!


Question: when i put the strings on my electric guitar the the action was so low i couldn't play it so im woiryed that if i raise the action that it effect my fine tuning

any help will do

raising the string height should have very little to do with intonation. But the way to check it is to pluck the E string 12th fret harmonic, then touch the string to the 12th fret to match the note of the harmonic.... if the fret note is flat then move the saddle closer to the pickup, is the fret note is sharp then move the string saddle away from the pickup... keep doing this until the 12th fret harmonic matches the 12th fret note.

Adjust your truss rod 1/8th of a turn counterclockwise.

Wait a bit for the adjustment to take and see if you need to turn another 1/8th of a turn.

You'll need to retune after any truss rod adjustments.
