I prefer Nirvana musically.
However, Foo Fighters allowed Dave to show off what he was capable of, while he was unable to do so while in Nirvana, I think.
So I will go for 'new' Dave, Foo Fighters has definitely helped to bring out his talent.
if your asking which Dave was better, i have to say new Dave, he is more productive, and plays a bigger role and in my opinion does it well, but if your asking which band is better, I'd have to say nirvana, they made awesome music, and are no doubt legendary, and are going to be one of the biggest influences to bands that are going to come out 5-10 years from now and forever.

This is hard. You cant really compare. I would say new dave. Foo fighters. Nirvana was really kurts band ya no. Now we see how talented dave really is. But i love both bands.

I love both bands but I like Foo Fighters better. I think Nirvana could be the best band ever if Cobain never died. They would still be goin now. But, honestly, I like Foo Fighters.

I mean, even though Nirvana made a HUGE explosion of grunge, I still stink Grohl did an awesome job on staying faithful to his band (Nirvana AND Foo Fighters) and making awesome music. A former drummer of the best grunge band singing lead and playing guitar of a superb band is sizzlin' hot.
