How do I get my band discovered?!
Question: I have a band and we played one show in front of 800 people and I know how to make a cd. how do I find a adress to a record dealer.

you could start out through myspace, purevolume, last.fm, and try to get your music to your fans out through there. so you'd already have a strong fan base. if you want to start out that way.
but in the meantime, if you're looking for a record company. just try and send out as demos to as many record companies as you can. depending on where you live though, of course.

yeah, i acutally just came across that site today.
but if you google the website of a record label you're interested in, they'll usually tell you- have a page on how to get your demos to them.

good luck and keep trying. don't be discouraged it you get alot of no's. because it's all about hard work.
put effort into keeping in touch with your fans. through ways such as replying their messages and comments on myspace or something.
also, if you do make it big big. make sure to never disregard your fans. because they're what's brought you to where you are.

just keep doing shows, im sure if your good enough, someone will reccomend or discover you, audition for something!
You Myspace it! Soulja Boy and Sean Kingston did it! You make a myspace about it and send to some famous rappers/r&b singers. If they like you then they will hook u up!

and Advertisment... :) and a recording company can help just send ALL recording companies your guys demos you never know ....
make a press kit with one black and white 5x7 glossy photo, write a 1-page bio, include your CD and put them into a cool folder. Then use "OverNite Express" mail and send them to the record companies that have bands like yours. And in the meantime, post videos and gig where ever you can.
